My neglect for this site is criminal, but I never forgot about it. I've been gathering the lols the whole time. Here are a few. We have all your old favourites:
The news is depressing, as Ze Frank once would have said. I wonder what he's doing now...
Trawling through the more obscure branches of the interwebs can lead to interesting results. I don't know if this was inspired by GarfieldminusGarfield, or vice versa, or not at all, but it seems that when you replace Garfield with a normal cat, you still get a comic that is much funnier than regular Garfield comics.
Idrewthis.org seems to have slowed to a standstill, sadly. He makes a good point, though. And thus I present a second comic.
(edit: in case you're not that familiar with American political iconography, the elephant represents the Republican party. The Democratic party is represented by a donkey. I have no idea why this is the case.)
Mario - Game Over
It's a kind of mix - funny, but also not. You might like it.
That's all I got for today! Enjoy, and I'll see you again.
This is funny... at least I think its funny, although not in the way most of the 'other' lols are funny. There is something very, er, "special" about this video and its creator. Her resilience in making amateur music videos despite a barrage of criticism pleases me immensely. (Mostly because I often do the same thing myself.) This video, though, is something else entirely...
Yep, these are all real Garfield comics. The implication? According to Wikipedia, it's undecided whether this sequence means that every Garfield comic since is the titular cat hallucinating as he slowly starves to death in an empty house, abandoned by everyone.
Makes Garfield Minus Garfield look pretty tame, hey?
(okay, so you need to click on this one to see it properly)
So it's been a while. I've had every part of the excuse spectrum thrown at me, from pure forgetfulness, to a week-long holiday to various parts of the South Coast (pretty awesome, by the way), to Blogger actually locking me out of Blogger. And Honours, as always, blows giant chunks of time out of my time. Still. A comic from ihartdarth.com. This one might not be funny if you haven't seen the new Star Wars trilogy (ie episodes I-III), but it made me lol, because that little dialogue in the movie is just so damn ridiculous!
Lolcats are awesome, but this lolbird cracks me up to this very day.
This one's not so much a lol as it is mildly humourous, but Wikipedia has a list of every problem solved my MacGyver. Oh yes, some people really do have this much time on their hands.
Another comic book cover, courtesy of these guys. Have a read, then let's discuss.
Regardless of circumstances, what could possibly be wrong with her that is less embarassing than walking around with a metal box on her head?
I don't know if anyone's been watching the Gruen Transfer of late, but I caught an episode the other night and loved it to death. Explore their site; it's an amazingly funny, intellectual look at the way media works, with emphasis on advertising.
Now, my blogs here are never very 'tube heavy, but I feel like I should put in just one. It's the new ad for the American Discovery Channel, and while it might not make you laugh out loud, id it doesn't warm your heart then you don't have one. Oh, and it spawned a recent XKCD comic.
Enjoy.
(To be honest, I like the XKCD version more, even when I had no idea why they were singing "Boom-de-yada").
There are lots of things that make me laugh, and one of them is Natalie. Yay Natalie for being so hilariously funny about things that would otherwise be incredibly sucky:
Also, over the past two weeks I've discovered the joys of blogs written by young adult fiction authors! =D John Green tells a particularly amusing anecdote about voting in the 2004 presidential election.
LOLCATS (sorry they are a bit dated - Google Reader is stuffing up again):
Tweet of the week (which is really from a long, long time ago!):
And there was something I really wanted to share but I've forgotten it right now. Aaaah I'm sorry. I'll share next week - k? K.
