Super Quick! In-and-Out! Japanese! Lolcat!

My neglect for this site is criminal, but I never forgot about it. I've been gathering the lols the whole time. Here are a few. We have all your old favourites:

Lolcats!

Tweets of the past few weeks!

Mice having sex!

Japanese madness (amazingness!)

Seriously. That woman ^above^ had tenacity!

Hopefully I'll not take so long next time. I really shouldn't: I've got enough lolcats saved in Google Reader to sink a ship.

Later skaters.

Variety Hour

The news is depressing, as Ze Frank once would have said. I wonder what he's doing now...

Trawling through the more obscure branches of the interwebs can lead to interesting results. I don't know if this was inspired by GarfieldminusGarfield, or vice versa, or not at all, but it seems that when you replace Garfield with a normal cat, you still get a comic that is much funnier than regular Garfield comics.

Idrewthis.org seems to have slowed to a standstill, sadly. He makes a good point, though. And thus I present a second comic.

(edit: in case you're not that familiar with American political iconography, the elephant represents the Republican party. The Democratic party is represented by a donkey. I have no idea why this is the case.)

Mario - Game Over

It's a kind of mix - funny, but also not. You might like it.

That's all I got for today! Enjoy, and I'll see you again.

Let there be BOOBS!

This is funny... at least I think its funny, although not in the way most of the 'other' lols are funny. There is something very, er, "special" about this video and its creator. Her resilience in making amateur music videos despite a barrage of criticism pleases me immensely. (Mostly because I often do the same thing myself.) This video, though, is something else entirely...

The Anti-Lol?

Yep, these are all real Garfield comics. The implication? According to Wikipedia, it's undecided whether this sequence means that every Garfield comic since is the titular cat hallucinating as he slowly starves to death in an empty house, abandoned by everyone.
Makes Garfield Minus Garfield look pretty tame, hey?

You've been tripped.. for the last time

Okay, so I felt bad that I didn't post anything this week. Although, apparently, I'm in good company since nobody did anything this week. lol.

Anyway... speaking of non-events, here's a gem from Mr. Charles Trippy.

Take THAT Sxephil!

Shameless

(okay, so you need to click on this one to see it properly)
So it's been a while. I've had every part of the excuse spectrum thrown at me, from pure forgetfulness, to a week-long holiday to various parts of the South Coast (pretty awesome, by the way), to Blogger actually locking me out of Blogger. And Honours, as always, blows giant chunks of time out of my time. Still.
A comic from ihartdarth.com. This one might not be funny if you haven't seen the new Star Wars trilogy (ie episodes I-III), but it made me lol, because that little dialogue in the movie is just so damn ridiculous!

Lolcats are awesome, but this lolbird cracks me up to this very day.

This one's not so much a lol as it is mildly humourous, but Wikipedia has a list of every problem solved my MacGyver. Oh yes, some people really do have this much time on their hands.

Another comic book cover, courtesy of these guys. Have a read, then let's discuss.

Regardless of circumstances, what could possibly be wrong with her that is less embarassing than walking around with a metal box on her head?

I don't know if anyone's been watching the Gruen Transfer of late, but I caught an episode the other night and loved it to death. Explore their site; it's an amazingly funny, intellectual look at the way media works, with emphasis on advertising.

Now, my blogs here are never very 'tube heavy, but I feel like I should put in just one. It's the new ad for the American Discovery Channel, and while it might not make you laugh out loud, id it doesn't warm your heart then you don't have one. Oh, and it spawned a recent XKCD comic.

Enjoy.

(To be honest, I like the XKCD version more, even when I had no idea why they were singing "Boom-de-yada").

That's all, folks. See you next time.

A Video, A Story, Some Pictures and a Tweet

There are lots of things that make me laugh, and one of them is Natalie. Yay Natalie for being so hilariously funny about things that would otherwise be incredibly sucky:

Also, over the past two weeks I've discovered the joys of blogs written by young adult fiction authors! =D John Green tells a particularly amusing anecdote about voting in the 2004 presidential election.

LOLCATS (sorry they are a bit dated - Google Reader is stuffing up again):

Tweet of the week (which is really from a long, long time ago!):

And there was something I really wanted to share but I've forgotten it right now. Aaaah I'm sorry. I'll share next week - k? K.

Iron Chef America...

There was always a danger that Iron Chef America was never going to be as inherently hilarious as its Asian variant. I mean it lacked the eccentric master of Kitchen Stadium to whimisically bite into a capsicum for no apparent reason at the beginning of the show for starters.

But the Americans do offer some fascinating critiques of food. As is demonstrated below.

Yes she really does say what you thought she did. Impressive, huh? lol

Emerging from the Haze. Temporarily.

The world is working against me. Or my mind is. At first it was all "AAAAAAH THE ASSIGNMENTS MARCH ON! I MUST DO THEM!" and then it just became "you've having too much fun to be on the internet at all. Stop with the seriousness and get out there and do some silly nonsense."

I've listened to my mind on both occasions and look where it got me. *sigh* God bless John for keeping this one updated while we've all been crazily running around like headless chooks trying to complete end-of-semester exams.

I've been saving my favourite Garfield Minus Garfield comics for a while now. Here is an overdose:

There is no tweet of the week this week because Twitter has disabled the 'favourites' page. It's having issues again. Classic Twitter style.

I really liked this video though - entitled "Hodge Podge Sex Tornado":

Hargarglblargh

(edit: this lolcat made me laugh so hard (sitting here in the computer lab) that I had to come back and add it in. NOM NOM NOM)
This also applies to Brita jugs, and any kind of communal food product. I am considering installing a tiger in my future home on this premise.

AHHH INTERVIEW ON TUESDAY! Not just any interview, THE interview. But I think I did okay, 'part from forgetting to mention the Science & Tech award I won, out of all Science teachers in AUSTRALIA! Blargh. Anyway. Here's hoping it's all good.

Loltime 'tis. First and foremost, a video upon which no words can improve:

Yeah. I wish I could make up something like that.

This is a movie reference from graphjam (thanks for the link Fillet!), that I really enjoyed. I hope there are people out there who still get it:

Obligatory Lolcat:

I love it. But now I have the Tetris theme in my head. Nooo!

I'm stuck into research at the moment, so that'll be all for today. Hope everyone's enjoying the nearly-holiday-period. If you're already on holidays, welcome to the club! If you're not on holidays yet, there's light at the end of the tunnel.

A Few Hours = A Week

Terribly sorry etc. As the hours turned into days and the end of semester squeeze got tighter and tighter I thought "I could do my lols late, or I could go out for coffee". And that was that.

Rip-snorter of a post today though. Yes it is.

GraphJam is an interesting site; who would have thought that graphs could (at least attempt to be) quite funny?

Of course, lolcats:
And because of my absence last week-slash-Twitter being stupid the week before we now have THREE tweets of the week:

Sam is so adorable!

Jake is a wise, wise man. Are the people on it?

The next is actually an entire Twitter page. To properly understand it (and to not give away the punchline!) you've got to read from the bottom up. Classic example of someone not using a site because they just can't work it.

There was a piece of flair I found on Facebook that was absolutely hilarious for so, so many reasons I couldn't possibly outline them all. What better thing to do than send it to a friend?

And with that rather gratuitous lol (apparently in all senses of the word) I will bid you adeau. I'll see you next week. There will be festivals and things.

Catch Him, Keep Him!

Hi everyone. I'm sorry. Things have been crazy. And by "things" I mean me. I decided we had to fill every day last week so I picked a video for every day except Wednesday (which Rohan promised he'd fill, and didn't). We probably need to talk more.

Anyway I am in the process of setting up Killertoothbrush.com and his blog with Leuke.

We added a google adsense ad and his image. Look at the ad beneath the image.

Hilarious!

Sunday Edition

So it's a weekender DLOL posting from me, it seems. This isn't because I forgot, but since we were promised a contribution from Fillet on Thursday, and got a posting from JoJ on Friday, I thought I'd forgo until later.

Last night was our end-of-uni formal, which was 110% awesome. Good food, terrible wine and awesome company - I got to catch u p with some people I haven't really seen in months, or years. That's the way it goes, I guess, but it was a great night.

Anyway, it's time for loltime. I got introduced to the Scratch and Burn team a while back; apparently they had a run on MTV once upon a time or something. Here is arguably their best ever work: Hamlet in One Minute.

Oh how I lol'd. (Speaking of, when using "lol" as a verb, should the past tense be loled, lolled or lol'd? Hmm...)

What's that you say? You want some truly bad taste lols? I can do that! Cyanide and Happiness, to the rescue!

Really, really bad taste. But that's the Explosm team for you.

Finally, let it not be said that Messr. Munroe is one to leave things on a sad note. The Journal Saga continues!

See you later, people!

IOU one set of lols. Sorry I'm late, but I'll get it all put in neatly in a few hours.

In the meantime sit tight and make up a dance. Then post it on YouTube.

Commons Edition

...Seriously. Don't look too hard at it.

But what? 8pm and no lol from Joel?! Why, that practically rhymes!

Fact is, I'm sitting here in a cosy little corner of what used to be the 24hour lab and is now a place for people to come and talk in their phones at the top of their voices, calm and content in the knowledge that it's only Wednesday and I still have a day to get my act together and look at some videos that don't belong to one of our contributors, when WHAM ohgodit'sthursdayI'dbetterputthisassignmentonholdandwriteahastyblog!

Yeah. So this will be another mostly picture-driven lol, but it's also good to mix things up a bit. Luckily, I've got a decent stock of lolpics in the various far reaches of my computer which I look at now and again to stave off the onset of university-based depression, so it's no big deal to share a couple with you kids when I've been neglecting the 'tubes.
Yeah yeah, it's long past April Fools', I still get a dark little laugh out of actually imagining someone in that position. I suspect it would be slightly damp, with occasional patches of wanting to hang the wardens.

Also, from the same school of artistry that brought us Captain Oblivious and his Amazing See-Thorough Eyepatch, we have another comic segment which takes at least a bronze medal at the No Prize Olympics:

If I were a betting man, I'd say she died because she was decapitated...

Also, I lied before. I have watched a few videos of late. This particular one is also in the realm of Everyone Has Seen It, but I think it warrants a mention.
This particular edition has the first and second volumes in one easy-to-swallow file, so enjoy!

Animator vs. Animation - parts I and II

The Aussie Citizenship Test

Finally tonight, we have another comic strip from the archives of the far side of political correctness. I fr one think Weeties should ditch that King Weet guy, or whatever his name is, and take up this as their campaign slogan.

"The taste lures you in for a second helping"... Priceless ^_^

See you all later.

-Az

P.S. - Notice if you will how many looong sentences I used, and how many hyphens...
